Retreats
Ojai Foundation | Spring
Celebrate Earth Day. Play and bloom in community.
This weekend or sometimes day retreat will be held in Spring to honor Earth Day.
In Spring, we celebrate life, Nature and community. It is naturally a more playful retreat than Fall. We free ourselves on 40 acres of magical, ceremonial Native American Chumash land and immerse ourselves in Yoga of Joy and Tibetan healing energy practices, yoga (Taoist Flow and Hatha), and meditation. To usher Earth Day in with reverence and to honor Nature's abundance and beauty, we practice karma yoga by restoring and rejuvenating the land.
Originally founded by reknowned Zen master, Joan Halifax, Ojai Foundation is a sustainable non-profit organization dedicated to permaculture education and conscious living. It is entirely solar-powered, and boasts a teepee, circular yoga/meditation room, lovingly handcrafted fire kivas, sweat lodge, labyrinth, animal teachings and many surprises...

Mt. Baldy Zen Center | Fall
Retreat from modern life.
Live simply and connect to your Inner Nature.
Early morning Rinzai Zen meditation and karma yoga with the resident monks, organic, macrobiotic foods in the 3-bowl Zen tradition, Yoga of Joy and Tibetan healing energy practices, Taoist Flow and Hatha yoga, spontaneous, somatic movement practices, and immersion in drala (mountain) energy.
This "rustic" weekend retreat celebrates the quiet of Fall and essential living: Practice, Nature, Nourishment. This is an introspective weekend to "clean our minds," live joyfully and bring peace to the world from the inside out. On some retreats, we cook together just like the monks and learn about nutrition along the way.
The majority of this retreat will be spent in “thunderous” silence.
